A brass instructor teaches students the fundamentals and advanced concepts of playing brass instruments.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, peers. and adults
- Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
- Shall hold all certificates required by Kentucky law.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, any and all body movements as related to the job description.

GENERAL DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.

- Shall have a willingness to cooperate with the superintendent, district administrators, principals and staff.
- Shall maintain the confidentiality, both verbally and in written form, of each student's educational record.
- Shall strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Shall take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Shall understand, model and implement the board policy code of ethics to all students and fellow colleagues.
- Shall adhere to School Board of Education Policies and Procedures.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall provide leadership to an organized group with an established leadership plan.
- Shall advise officers on monthly agendas and agenda items.
- Shall supervise all fund-raising activities.
- Shall keep accurate records on budget expenditures.
- Shall assist students with any and all competitions.
- Shall prepare a detailed annual report highlighting the activity accomplishments, awards, participation levels and recommendations for improvement.
- Shall actively recruit members.
- Shall support the school district and the respective school's activities philosophies.
- Shall be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities. This may involve staying overnight.
- Shall have knowledge of CPR and First Aid.
- Shall be knowledgeable of blood borne pathogens and other infectious materials and the procedures of dealing with them.
- Shall promote and directly work toward academic achievement during the high school career and serve as a liaison for post-secondary scholarships and other financial incentives.
- Shall perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT: extra service duties
SALARY: Commensurate with the school district's salary schedule for supplemental work. Salary is based on the specific title of the assigned Increment position.
